 Five reasons why you haven't gotten an interview invite

1. You rush or jump on job posts without doing necessary research: those who take their time to digest and research what a job is about and who the employer is, stand a higher chance to be called than those who don't. 

2. SPELLING ERRORS and grammatical mistakes: These are little foxes that spoil your beautiful vineyard, it can be cringe-worthy for a recruiter to find careless mistakes in your CV and Cover letter, Worst especially when you say you are "attentive to detail" or you are an "editor and proofreader", yet you cannot spot out little mistakes. 

3. Sending out one CV and Cover letter for ten different job applications. (Employers and recruiters know who went the extra mile to look at the nooks and crannies of the job description and recruiting company.)

4. Your CV is not ATS Compliant. Nowadays Employers use automated CV screening software to shortlist qualified and ideal candidates... Sadly, this is the case because potentially valuable candidates are bypassed by a computer. 

Some things you should not include in your CV:

a. Date of Birth, Marital status, religion, and other personal information that does not add an edge to your application. (except you are applying for a government job or the recruiter specifies an age limit) 

b. Your photograph. Please remove your photos from your CV that is a strange practice that adds no bearing to your job search. It's the job of the recruiters to call you for an interview if they want to see your face. (Except you are applying for a modeling role or the job ad specifically asks for this.)

5. Doing the same thing all over again and expecting a different result.  Try to do something different.
